5 reasons to Check Your Monthly Driving Report

September 1, 2014

You probably noticed an email from Zubie about a month ago titled “Your July Driving Stats“. If you did, we hope you found it useful. If you did not see it, please check your spam folder and move it to your inbox so you can start to benefit from it.

With the second one coming in the next day or so (for August), we thought it might be a good time to explain what this report is all about and how you can benefit from it.

1. Your life behind the wheel

We know you love cars and may even enjoy a nice long drive occasionally. But did you realize how much of your life is spent inside one? Our Activity Summary gives you a sense for the number of miles and hours you spent driving, and also contrasts that with the average Zubie driver, who incidentally drove about 1K miles in July. Given that summer months are prime long-distance driving season, these miles were spent over a relatively smaller number of trips- 45 for the average driver. Over the next few weeks, we will be adding other metrics such as fuel costs so you are better informed about all aspects of your driving activity.

2. We’re not judging, but..

Summer driving can also be stressful, whether its on I-95, the I-4 or on the 101. The Driving Score section breaks down how you did this month. This past month, we observed higher than normal instances of hard accelerations, braking and speeding across our users, but your performance is for you to judge. Go easy.

3. Is your car happy?

Maybe you got an engine or low battery alert and forgot all about it? We know, it happens. The Vehicle summary serves as a reminder of the health of your car(s). Green is good, red is bad. And don’t procrastinate – if you see something, do something. Use the Zubie app to get more details.

4. Great features you may have missed

As we add more and more cool features into the Zubie experience, it may be hard to keep up. We will keep you updated by profiling one or two particularly cool things about what Zubie can do, or how a particular feature can be used in real-world scenarios. In July, we covered the new Motion Monitor feature that lets you keep a really close eye on your car when you need to.

5. New & interesting stuff

We’re just getting started. In future reports, along with the plain old stats, we will be providing more interesting comparisons to other kinds of drivers, and also better guidance on how to save money. You’ll also receive new tips for safer driving- customized just for you.

So keep an eye out for your August report. We hope you find these reports useful and interesting. And we’d love your feedback, so please send us a note or join the conversation on our community site.
